Growing up in the Las Vegas Valley, Donna Potter has always been inspired and influenced by the surrounding desert - the colors and textures of the landscape as well as the brilliant hues of the sunrises and sunsets. She makes pottery that has an artistic flare, primarily objects that function in the home. Most of her work is thrown on the Potter’s wheel and altered in some way.The glazes on her pots depict the subtle color and texture from life in the Mojave Desert.
When her family moved to the Pacific Northwest during the pandemic, her glaze combinations changed to depict the rich greens and blues in the environment that surrounds her studio and home.
John Andruss relocated to Las Vegas from the Chicago area in the 1980"s. He taught high school ceramics until his retirement in 2019. In addition to gardening and creating his own work he helps out around the studio by loading kilns and making glazes.
My goal is to create interesting, reasonably priced handmade functional pottery that can be used everyday. All my work is handmade on the potter's wheel from stoneware and porcelain clays. Each piece is food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.
